The Best Job in the World!!!

Australia — By on February 20, 2009 3:32 PM

We all know how much I love Australia and I now have a chance to return to the land down under!!!

I just submitted my video application for the best job in the world!!!

If I am selected for the position of Island Caretaker, I will be living on luxurious Hamilton Island and exploring the islands of the Great Barrier Reef! My job would be to report back to the rest of the world and share my adventures via weekly blogs, photo diary, video updates and ongoing media interviews.

This is the perfect job for me!!! I can hardly believe that this opportunity exists! It is almost as if I spent all of last year training for this exact position!

I originally decided to start my “Kelly’s World” blog to keep a diary of my travel adventures and to share my experiences with friends, family, and followers. The best job in the world would be one that would pay me to do what I love best…traveling, creative writing, photography, learning new cultures, adventure activities, and meeting new people! Did I mention that the job pays $150,000 AUD for a 6-month contract? SWEET!!!

Of course I believe I am the best person for this job but I may be a little biased. Please comment below and tell the judges why you think I would be the best island caretaker and ambassador of tourism.

Australia has given me so much and I would love the opportunity to give back to this beautiful country! My Aussie larrikin spirit still burns strong and I owe it to Australia to pass this on to the rest of the world!

Kel – Your passion and enthusiasm for Australia has been apparent since the day we met. After all, I met you right upon your return stateside, and you were totally beaming from the experience. I could see that although you were happy to be home with longtime friends, you were missing the dear friends you made down under. I truly hope you have an opportunity to go back soon.

This blog has truly given me a chance to re-live your journey, and based upon everything I’ve seen, I believe this job was made for YOU! I definitely want to visit Australia in the near future, especially the reef. It’s always been a dream of mine, and I can say that you’ve inspired me to make it a reality.

Hopefully see you there in a few months!!!

It’s like your entire last year was prepping you for this assignment and you didn’t even know it. Someone is watching out for you for sure! I think what you’ll best bring to this job is your enthusiasm to meet new people and spread your zest for life and all it’s adventures! I’ll be sad to see you leave if you get your job, but at least I know I’ll see you down under soon. This time, I’ll meet up with you down under! And wherever else you go! Good On-ya for completing this next step in your life’s adventure! : )

Even though I missed you horribly while you were gone, your year abroad meant you got to meet so many wonderful people and experience things many people can only dream of. And I felt I experienced it along with you, thanks to your blog. I can’t imagine a more perfect job for you than this caretaker / ambassador position. My fingers are crossed for you, but something tells me it was meant to be. Good luck!

This job sounds just like the ‘perfect job’ you described to me before you began your journey in 2007. With your experiences from last year, your personality, your enthusiasm for trying new things and your ability to make friends wherever you go, you are perfect for this job. I can’t image anyone being a better match to the job requirements. Your travel blog is an excellent example of your creativity and writing ability. Good luck!!
