Fun in Byron Bay

Stacy and I have been having “heaps” of fun together in Byron Bay! We have been sleeping late, playing at the beach in the afternoon, and listening to live music at night! When Stacy is working, I have been hanging with her cool housemates, who are from all over the world.

We took a hemp weaving class together and made matching hemp anklets. We also have been surfing together! Last week we took 2 days of surfing classes at Belongil Beach. It was Stacy’s first time surfing and she did really well and got up the first day! I hadn’t surfed in months, but was able to get up right away as the waves were really small. We plan to go surfing again this week!

Last night was very fun as we saw Lisa Hunt and her band “Forever Soul”, perform at the Beach Hotel. Lisa is from New York, and is a soul singer playing the best of Motown, Soul, Rhythm & Blues and Disco. The “Beachie” was packed with people of all ages and everyone danced while singing along to familiar tunes of Aretha Franklin, Jackson 5, and Otis Redding.
