Bula Bula from Fiji
Fiji, South Pacific, South Pacific Sailing — By Kelly on June 26, 2011 10:18 PMIt took us seven days to reach Savusavu, Fiji … three of which were spent anchored at the Niuas, a group of three of Tonga’s most remote islands.
While I was at sea a draft of a post strangely published itself in it’s unfinished form. Sorry for any confusion, I will explain more about the volunteer work I will be doing aboard Infinity in a later post.
In the three days we have been here we have learned “Bula” (hello in Fijian) and find the people of Fiji to be very warm and hospitable. We were happily surprised that Fiji seems to be much cheaper than Tonga. Thomas is getting his scuba certification and I look forward to diving with him in a few days.
More about the sailing passage from Tonga to Fiji to come soon …
