Happy Anniversary Lancelin Lodge!

Last week I celebrated the 15 year anniversary of Lancelin Lodge. Owners Trish and Trev threw a party at the hostel, treating us all to a lovely dinner and fun times with new friends.

Trish & Trev came up with the idea to build the lodge after staying in hostels for the first time while traveling through New Zealand. Neither had ever stayed in a hostel before and were surprised how much they enjoyed the new experience. The couple often took holidays to Lancelin and knew the beach town to draw windsurfers from around the world. Back then the only accommodation options for visitors was to rent a local house. They decided to build the lodge specifically to accommodate the visiting windsurfers and conveniently built the lodge in walking distance to the popular windsurfing beach.

Lancelin Lodge is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed at during my travels and the owners are some of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting in Australia.
