And we’re off! Setting sail for Tonga today

Today we set sail for the beginning of our South Pacific sailing adventure! We awoke to a beautiful rainbow which I hope is a sign for good weather to come. We are departing from the Bay of Islands, New Zealand for a 1200 mile, 10-day voyage to Tonga (could be longer if weather permit us to stop at Minerva Reefs). We hope for good wind, smooth sailing, and fun times! I am  so excited to sail to warmer weather, beautiful beaches, and hope to find good kitesurfing and scuba diving spots!

I have taken my daily dosage of “Paihia Bomber” a local remedy to prevent seasickness that sailors swear by.

I will obviously won’t be in communication during the passage; however, there is a chance you might can track our voyage through this site searching for ID# KC0PWT, boat name Wonderland.

Read Evi in Wonderland to learn more about the 40 ft yacht we will be sailing and her captain. Over and out!

She knows not where she is going for the ocean will decide. It’s not the destination, it’s the glory of the ride – Edward Monkton

Just remember in case of bad weather- all sailors know bare breasts calm the seas! (thats why the bowsprit is in the shape of a woman they say).
