Hunter Valley Wine Tasting

We took a tour bus to the Hunter Valley, which is a wine region similar but smaller to Napa Valley. Hunter Valley is about 2 hours North of Sydney and we stopped along the way at the Australian Reptile Park, which also had kangaroos and koalas! We were able to pet the kangaroos and we fed them as they ate right out of our hands! We all were able to pet the koala, which was so freaking cute!

It rained most of the day but Hunter Valley was beautiful and we had alot of fun. We met a girl from Chicago who also works in advertising. Her name is Amy and she is applying for a job at Young & Rubicon, which is also located in several cities in the states. She said that there are tons of jobs available in advertising and experience working in advertising in America is valued greatly in Australia.

One of the wineries specialized in liqueurs and we all had to do a shot of Chili Schnapps. I love spicy stuff but Lauren thought she might die (check out her face)!

On Tuesday night we visited the Sydney Aquarium. We saw crocodiles, gigantic stingrays, penguins, seals, and many sharks.

Tonight we are having a Valentine’s BBQ at the house. Danny brought all 3 of us roses…so sweet! Tomorrow we move out of our house in Coogee and into a hostel nearby. I hate packing!!!

Note to self and other travelers from USA…do not bring appliances from home. Stacy just blew up her hairdryer from home and almost caught her hair on fire!
